Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and Physical Performance Training Systems Ltd when you train with us. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Version 1.0 · Effective 13 September 2026 · Last checked 13 September 2026

Key terms at a glance

The full detail is below. These are the points people most need to know, and nothing further down contradicts them.

  • Remote £100 and Hybrid £150 a month are paid monthly in advance, with no minimum term. Cancel before your next payment is due and you keep the service to the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Group Training £220 a month is an ongoing coaching service, not four sessions and not a bank of credits. It is a rolling monthly arrangement you can end with one month’s notice.
  • Personal Training £60 a session. Move or cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice and there is no charge.
  • If we fail to deliver something you have paid for, we put it right — rescheduling, credit or refund, depending on the circumstances.
  • If you agreed with us at a distance rather than in person, you have a 14-day right to change your mind. See changing your mind.
  • Your statutory rights always apply. Nothing here takes them away, and nothing here excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

1. Who you are contracting with

Your agreement is with Physical Performance Training Systems Ltd, trading as Physical Performance, company number 17139783, registered office 21 David Street, Manchester, M34 7TA. Training takes place at our facility in Heaton Mersey, Manchester, which is a different address.

2. The services

We provide coaching: Remote Training, Hybrid Training, Group Training and Personal Training. What each one includes is described on the pricing page and on its own service page, and those descriptions form part of this agreement.

Sending an enquiry does not create a booking or an agreement. An agreement starts when we have agreed with you what you are buying, and you have confirmed it.

3. Individual programming and coach continuity

Every client trains to a programme written for them. Exercise selection, loading and progression are decided for you and change as your training develops.

We aim to provide continuity of coaching wherever reasonably possible, but we do not guarantee that every session will always be delivered by the same coach. Whoever coaches you works to the same individual programme.

4. Health screening and telling us about changes

Before you train, you complete a PAR-Q and health and exercise screening. We need it to make what we ask of you appropriate and safe, and we may decline to coach you until it is complete.

You agree to give accurate information, and to keep your coach informed about relevant changes to your health, injuries, symptoms, medication or other circumstances affecting safe participation. We can only work with what we know.

5. What we do and do not do

We provide fitness and coaching services. We do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, we are not a rehabilitation service, and nothing we say is medical advice.

Where an appropriately qualified healthcare professional has given you advice or restrictions, we welcome them, and we will design and adapt your training within them and within our own professional scope. If you have an injury, a health condition or symptoms, speak to a healthcare professional.

6. Group Training

Group Training is Small Group Personal Training in our facility at £220 a month, with a maximum of six clients per coaching hour, each following their own programme and with a coach present throughout.

It is an ongoing monthly coaching service. It is not four purchased sessions, not a session-credit package and not a bank of sessions. We encourage members to make the most of the training opportunities available across the year, and additional training across the Monday–Friday training week is available at your agreed training time, subject to capacity.

Because it is a service rather than a quantity of sessions, personal absence — including holidays — does not create credits, and training opportunities you do not take do not accumulate or normally carry forward or generate a refund. This does not apply where we are the reason a service was not available to you; see availability and if something goes wrong.

Ending it. Group Training is a rolling monthly arrangement. You can end it by giving us one month’s notice, and you keep training through your notice period. There is no formal freeze arrangement.

If you end your Group Training, your place and preferred training time may be offered to the next available client or to someone on the waiting list. We cannot promise the same time will be available if you return later, though we will always try to find a time that works.

7. Personal Training

Personal Training is one-to-one coaching at £60 a session, including ongoing remote support between sessions.

Moving or cancelling a session. Give us at least 48 hours’ notice and there is no charge. With less than 48 hours’ notice, the session is normally charged at the full rate, because the time has been set aside for you and cannot usually be filled. We apply reasonable discretion for genuinely exceptional circumstances — tell us what has happened and we will deal with it fairly.

If we cancel or cannot deliver a session you have paid for, we will reschedule it, credit your account or refund it, depending on the circumstances and what suits you.

8. Remote Training

Remote Training is £100 a month and includes a personalised programme, planned progression and tracking, structured coaching contact, exercise guidance and video or form feedback where appropriate.

Structured coaching contact means contact at agreed points. It is not continuous availability, instant replies or an open-ended amount of calls or video feedback, and we would rather say so plainly than let you discover it.

Payment and ending it. Paid monthly in advance for the coming service period, with no minimum term. Cancel before your next monthly payment becomes due and the service continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

9. Hybrid Training

Hybrid Training is £150 a month. It includes everything in Remote Training, plus one 60-minute in-person Personal Training session during each monthly service period.

The included session should normally be used within the service period it belongs to and does not normally roll forward. If we prevent it from being delivered, we will provide an appropriate remedy — rescheduling it, crediting it or refunding it — depending on the circumstances.

Payment and ending it work exactly as for Remote Training above.

10. Payments

Invoicing and payment are handled through GoCardless by Direct Debit.

  • You will be told the amount due and the collection arrangements that apply to you, and the specific dates are confirmed with you when you join.
  • Payment information is generated around the middle of the month, and you have an opportunity to check it and raise anything that looks wrong before it is collected.
  • If you think an amount is wrong, tell us as soon as you notice. We will check it and correct anything that is wrong, and we will not treat a genuine query as a missed payment while we look into it.
  • If a payment fails we will contact you to sort it out. We may pause coaching if payments remain outstanding, and we will tell you before we do.

Prices are the amounts shown on the pricing page. Where anything else is payable, we will agree it with you before you commit to it.

11. Changing your mind

Whether you have a statutory right to cancel depends on how the agreement was made, not on which service you bought.

If we agreed it at a distance or away from our facility

For example by phone, email, WhatsApp or online. You have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day after the agreement was made, without giving a reason. Tell us clearly that you want to cancel — an email or message is fine — and we will refund you within 14 days of being told, using the same payment method.

If you have asked us to start coaching you inside those 14 days and you then cancel, you pay a proportionate amount for what we have already provided, rather than the whole price. We will ask you to confirm that request when you make it, so that both of us know where we stand.

If we agreed it in person at our facility

There is no statutory 14-day cancellation right for an agreement made in person on our premises. The cancellation arrangements in sections 6 to 9 are what apply — one month’s notice for Group Training, and cancelling before the next payment for Remote and Hybrid.

If you are not sure which applies to you, ask us and we will tell you straight.

12. Juniors

Where a client is under 18, the agreement is made with their parent or guardian, who is responsible for payment.

  • Under 16 — a parent or guardian consents to training, and a responsible adult remains on the premises while the junior trains.
  • 16 and 17 — may train without a parent or guardian remaining, where that is appropriate. Parent or guardian involvement and consent remain part of joining.

Health screening consent for a junior is given by the parent or guardian.

13. Conduct and Gym Rules

Our Gym Rules form part of this agreement. They are short, and they exist so the facility stays safe and pleasant to train in. Please follow reasonable instructions from your coach, particularly about technique, loading and equipment.

14. Your belongings

Client storage is available and we would rather you used it. Please do not leave valuables unattended. We are not responsible for loss or damage to your property except where it results from our negligence or other breach of our duties — nothing here removes a right you have in law.

15. Availability of the facility and services

Occasionally the facility or a service may be unavailable — for maintenance, equipment failure, illness or something outside our control. We will tell you as soon as we reasonably can and we will do what we sensibly can to minimise the disruption.

Where you have paid for something and we do not provide it, section 22 applies: we reschedule, credit or refund as appropriate. We do not keep money for a service we did not supply.

16. Photography and video

We sometimes take photographs or video for marketing. This is separate from your training agreement and entirely optional. We ask for your consent separately, declining does not affect your access to training or coaching or what you pay, and you can withdraw consent for future use at any time. Being present in the facility is not treated as agreement.

17. CCTV

CCTV operates outside the building and inside the gym for security and safety. There are no cameras in toilets or changing areas. The Privacy Notice explains the purposes, who can see footage and how long it is kept.

18. Coaching videos

If you send us exercise or training videos, we use them to coach you — checking technique, giving feedback and seeing how your programme is going. We will not use them for marketing unless you have separately agreed to that. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

19. Technology and AI

Your coach is responsible for your training and for the coaching decisions made about it. Technology helps us analyse performance, monitor progression and make better-informed programming decisions.

AI systems are not intentionally given personally identifiable client information for developing or analysing an individual programme, and individual planning and programming are completed outside those systems where personal identity is concerned.

20. Your information

How we handle your personal information, including health information, coaching videos and CCTV, is set out in the Privacy Notice.

21. Your consumer rights

We must provide our services with reasonable care and skill, and what we tell you about the service is binding on us where you rely on it. If we do not, you have statutory remedies, which can include us performing the service again or reducing the price.

Nothing in this agreement excludes or restricts your legal rights as a consumer. If anything here conflicts with those rights, your rights win.

22. If something goes wrong

Tell us. Speak to your coach, or contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp with what happened and what you would like us to do about it. We will look into it properly and tell you the outcome.

If you are not satisfied with the answer, say so and we will look at it again, at a more senior level where there is one. Where we have failed to provide a service you have paid for, we will reschedule it, credit your account or refund it, depending on the circumstances.

23. Changes to services, prices and these terms

We may change our prices. If a change affects a service you are already receiving, we will give you at least one month’s written notice before it takes effect, telling you what the new price is and why it is changing. If you do not want to continue at the new price, you can end the agreement by telling us within that notice period, without any additional charge for doing so.

We may make reasonable changes to how a service is delivered — for example to equipment, scheduling or the way sessions run — provided the change does not materially reduce what you receive. Where a change would materially reduce it, the notice and exit arrangements above apply.

We may update these terms to reflect changes in what we do or in the law. We will tell you about any change that affects you, and the version and effective date at the top of this page will change with it.

24. Ending the agreement

You can end your agreement as set out in sections 6 to 9, and section 11 where a statutory cancellation right applies.

We may end the agreement, or suspend coaching, where there is a serious breach — for example behaviour that puts someone at risk, abusive or discriminatory conduct, or repeated breaches of the Gym Rules after we have raised them with you. We will explain the reason, and we will refund anything you have paid for a service you will not now receive. Where a breach can reasonably be put right, we will say so and give you the chance to do it.

25. Liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. No notice or sign anywhere in our facility changes that.

Training carries inherent physical risk. That is why we screen your health, coach technique in the room, and ask you to follow reasonable instructions and tell us about changes to your health — and it is why following those instructions matters. Where loss is caused by something other than our fault, we are not responsible for it.

We are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses, as we supply our services to you as a consumer for personal use.

26. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring court proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live, and the law of that part may apply to your consumer rights.
