Personal training in Heaton Mersey, Manchester

One-to-one coaching on your own programme.

The coaching hour is yours. The programme is written around what you are training for, and the coach is with you for the whole session.

What you get

Undivided coaching time.

Personal training suits people who want the session built entirely around them: technique taken apart and rebuilt, a programme that accounts for their training history, and a coach whose attention is not shared.

Training is structured rather than improvised. Exercise selection, loading and session structure follow from what you are training towards and where your training is now, and they change as you develop.

  • Goals and starting point discussed before anything is programmed
  • Exercise selection matched to how you move and what you can train
  • Loading and session structure planned across the training block
  • Technique set up, cued and corrected as you train
  • The plan adjusted around how you respond to it

Compared with small-group

What actually differs.

  • Personal training

The coaching hour is yours alone.

  • Small-group personal training

Coaching time is shared and capped at six clients per coaching hour, and each person follows their own programme.

Both are individually programmed and both are coached in the room. Neither is better in general; they answer different preferences.

Who it suits

  • People who want a coach’s full attention in the session
  • People returning to structured training after time away
  • People who want technique taught rather than assumed

This is coaching, not medical care. If you have an injury, a health condition or symptoms, speak to a qualified healthcare professional; we are happy to work alongside advice you have been given.

The coaching system

How the coaching works.

The same six stages sit behind every service. They describe how training is planned and kept moving, and they are separate from the enquiry sequence below.

  1. Assess

Start from what you are training towards, where your training is now, and what it has to work around.

  2. Programme

Turn that into a plan: exercise selection, loading, session structure and how the training develops.

  3. Coach

A coach is with you in the session, setting the work up and correcting how you are moving while you train.

  4. Track

What actually happens in your training informs the next decisions rather than a template deciding them.

  5. Adapt

Adjust the plan around how you respond to it and what your circumstances allow.

  6. Progress

Develop the training towards your goals over time. Progress can mean consolidating or easing off as readily as adding load.
