Small-group personal training in Heaton Mersey, Manchester

Train alongside others. Follow your own programme.

Small-group personal training, sometimes called semi-private personal training, is capped at a maximum of six clients per coaching hour, each following their own programme.

Shared time, individual training

It is not a class. Nobody follows the same sheet.

A class gives everyone one workout. Small-group personal training gives each person their own programme and shares the coach’s time between them.

  • What is shared

The coaching hour, the room, the equipment and the coach’s time.

  • What is individual

The programme, the exercises, the loading and how the training progresses.

Common questions

What people ask first.

Everything below is also stated on this page; the answers are collected here for convenience.

Does everyone do the same workout?

No. Each person follows their own programme, with their own exercise selection, loading and progression.

How many people are in the coaching hour?

Small-group coaching is capped at a maximum of six clients per coaching hour, each following their own programme.

Can I train here without coaching?

No. This is a coaching service rather than open gym access.

How do I start?

Send an enquiry. That leads to a consultation, then a Trial Package, then a package.

The coaching system

How the coaching works.

The same six stages sit behind every service. They describe how training is planned and kept moving, and they are separate from the enquiry sequence below.

  1. Assess

Start from what you are training towards, where your training is now, and what it has to work around.

  2. Programme

Turn that into a plan: exercise selection, loading, session structure and how the training develops.

  3. Coach

A coach is with you in the session, setting the work up and correcting how you are moving while you train.

  4. Track

What actually happens in your training informs the next decisions rather than a template deciding them.

  5. Adapt

Adjust the plan around how you respond to it and what your circumstances allow.

  6. Progress

Develop the training towards your goals over time. Progress can mean consolidating or easing off as readily as adding load.
