Coaching approach

Training that is planned, coached and progressed.

The point of coaching is that someone is thinking about your training between sessions as well as during them. This is how that works.

The system

Assess. Programme. Coach. Track. Adapt.

  1. Assess

Training starts from where you actually are: what you want to achieve, how you have trained before, how you move now, and the time you genuinely have.

  2. Programme

That becomes a plan — exercise selection, loading, session structure and how often you train — rather than a different workout every visit.

  3. Coach

Sessions are coached, not supervised. Technique is taught and corrected while you train, so you leave moving better as well as having trained.

  4. Track

What you did in the last block informs the next one. Decisions come from your training rather than from a template.

  5. Adapt

Programmes change as you do. A new block can change exercises while keeping the purpose of the training the same.

01

Starting from where you are

Before anything is programmed we go through what you want to achieve, how you have trained before, what you are doing now, how you move, and how much time you realistically have. That conversation sets the starting point, and it is the reason two people with the same goal do not necessarily get the same programme.

02

Programming in blocks

Training is organised into blocks of work with a purpose, rather than a different session every time you turn up. A block develops something specific; the next one builds on what the last one produced.

When a new block starts, exercises can change while the purpose of the training stays the same — a different way of training the same quality, not a random reshuffle.

03

Exercise selection

Exercises are chosen because they do a job in your programme and because you can perform them well. Where a movement does not suit you — your training history, the range of movement you have available, how you are recovering — we select an alternative that trains the same quality.

Having a varied facility is what makes that possible in practice. See the facility.

04

Coaching in the session

Sessions are coached, not supervised. Technique is taught, cued and corrected as you train, so you leave with better movement as well as a completed session. In small-group sessions the six-person cap is what protects that attention.

05

Progression and adaptation

Progress comes from training that gets harder in a managed way. Loading, volume and difficulty are planned and adjusted, and what you did in the last block informs what comes next, so decisions are based on your actual training rather than a template.

Programmes also adapt around the rest of your life — the time you have, and how well you are recovering.

06

Where coaching stops

This is coaching, not medical care. We do not diagnose or treat injuries or medical conditions, and nothing here is medical advice. If you have a health condition, an injury or symptoms, speak to a qualified healthcare professional — we are happy to work alongside advice you have been given.
